Axxess DSL St Georges recently played host to the Eastern Cape leg of the Idols III competition.  The first day saw about 500 contestants arrive for the first round of judging.  The call backs were held on Saturday 25 June 2005 when the contestants had to sing for the Idols judges Gareth Cliff, Mara Louw, Randall Abrahams and Dave Thompson.  There were many tears and much jubilation and the final 6 selected from the Eastern Cape will be joining other Idol contestants in Johannesburg as part of the top 100.  The competition starts on MNET at the end of July.
